Every year, there are inspirational stories about people who defy incredible odds to finish marathons across the world. From Jami Marseilles, the first double amputee to finish the Boston Marathon to Robby Ketchell, raising awareness for Down Syndrome by carrying his young son, who has the condition (with the help of his wife), to cross the finish line at the New York Marathon, stories continue to inspire us to see the best in each other and spread God’s love.

This year, at one of the most famous races in the world, the Boston Marathon, something miraculous happened at the finish line. Thomas Smith who has been paralyzed three times entered the race. Just the fact that he entered the race was a feat in itself. Even walking was an unbelievable blessing. But he wanted to push himself even further.

Although Smith could not run, he walked the entire way, expecting to be alone and amongst the last people to cross the line. But something incredible happened. At mile three, he made a friend, Carlos, and his actions would speak to hearts all around the world. Carlos slowed his pace and walked with Smith the whole rest of the way, bringing him and everyone who watched to tears. To show that type of love is what life is truly about. When we say things like "What Would Jesus Do?," moments like this come to mind.
